I have created this glossary in order to better know and define new words, find them, learn them and know how to use them.

Greenwashing
Noun
Greenwashing is a communication and marketing strategy adopted by companies or other organizations. It consists in putting forward ecological arguments in order to forge an ecologically responsible image among the public.
Example: The campaign was little more than greenwashing to improve the oil company's image.
The environmental movement has warned consumers against greenwashing, saying that when businesses use terms such as "environmentally friendly" and "green" they are often meaningless.

Able to be maintained at a certain rate or level.
Example: The sun is a source of sustainable energy. Le soleil est une source d'énergie durable.
Green businesses rely on a sustainable value chain.

tanning

the action or process of converting animal skin into leather by soaking it in a liquid containing tannic acid, or by the use of other chemicals.
Example: Two industrial users, one active in the pharmaceuticals sector and the other one in leather tanning, cooperated in the investigation.
